The Arusha Tarangire National Park is a great area to explore and stretch your legs because it has a variety of creatures, including herbivores like hippopotamuses, zebra, buffaloes, elephants, and the sporadic wildebeest. The park offers both canoe safaris and walking safaris.

Arusha National Park is an excellent spot to visit for giraffe enthusiasts as it is home to the greatest population of these long-necked, graceful creatures in the entire globe.

Why Arusha National Park

Hiking Mount Meru

Arusha National Park has Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second-highest mountain at 4566 meters, which is situated 70 kilometers (44 miles) west of Mount Kilimanjaro.  Although Mount Meru has been dormant for the past century, it is nonetheless an active volcano. The mountain’s contours are mimicked by the vegetation and animals. There are various species, including giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, antelopes, and warthogs, at the base of the mountain. Elephants, gueretsa monkeys, porcupines, and baboons are among the animals that reside higher up in the mountain forests.

You will ascend with porters and a knowledgeable Park Guide. Firewood is provided, and lodging is in huts designed for dormitories. For the shelters, a sleeping bag and mat are necessary. The ascent of Mount Meru requires a challenging foot journey over some difficult terrain.

Canoeing at Momela lake

Mother Lakes You may explore the little Momella Lake’s serene and quiet surroundings on a canoe tour. One of the most fascinating things to do in Arusha National Park is this.

Ngurudoto Crater

The park’s famous black and white colobus monkeys are currently the only animals you can see when driving through a foggy jungle.

Leopards, along with the rare alien, are the main predators in this region despite the absence of lions.

You can get a unique perspective of the lush forests, shady meadows, and numerous animal paths by driving around the Ngurdoto Crater’s hills.

The Crater’s rim can now be walked halfway around, which is wonderful news.
